The performance-oriented GS-R presented a 170 hp 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine was equipped with VTEC. GS-R comes only with a particularly close relationship with fuel.

In 1997 limited edition of Acura Integra Type R debut. Only available as a coupe and a single color (Championship White), Type R is pure performance and presented a high-revving 195 hp version of the 1.8-liter engine.
